The hillside marked as Charlton Slopes are filled with attractive family-friendly period streets. These are the most sought-after streets in the area, close to two primary schools judged by Ofsted to be “outstanding” namely Sherington and Invicta.
Charlton House is one of the finest surviving Jacobean mansions in Britain which houses a library and has the most impressive grounds in which to wander.

Charlton has its own village with a selection of shops and a pub.
